International collaboration

Before this year, international collaboration seemed to me as some distant and faraway thing. However, during this year, I've really started to realize what international collaboration might be. I have met with our sister organizations from Sweden, Norway and Denmark and together with their boards we have discussed joint-future operations. I also dared to speak in other languages!
Most of Nuva ry's action will continue to be focused in Finland, for example lobbying, education and district organization activities, but in addition we can learn new things from others and take experiences from here to abroad. My personal goal in the future is to continue collaboration, especially with Sweden's SVUNG, because our youth councils have a lot of similarities and the potential to increase collaboration.
During the past year, I have gained a lot of information about the possibilities, as well as new enthusiasm and skills, so it is worth putting them to use next year.
The major challenge next year will be raising awareness of international collaboration both within the youth council movement and in other youth action. Everyone should be given information about the possibilities and the opportunity to participate, regardless of background!
